Andrew Mac Ewen
Andrew provides project financial, operational and strategic leadership to Kinley Exploration with his expertise in detailed energy economic modeling, public and private company finance, and project operations. Andrew provides expertise to new projects, acquisitions and company start-ups. The focus as of late has been in the development of advanced technology related to Hydraulic Borehole Mining. Andrew has been intimately involved from conception to development to the successful pilots in two recent projects in 2013 and 2014. He has been closely involved in the African projects and has overseen the sale and placement of rigs into Colombia.
Andrew’s previous experience included being a Director of Phoenix Well Services. Phoenix was an acquisition managed by the Kinley team. The company provided multi-stage wireline perforating services for all the major Operators in the Marcellus shale and was recently sold to Frac Tech. Mac Ewen was also SVP of Tonare Energy LLC, the group’s Canadian entity that signed a 10 year exploration agreement with the Thunderchild First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada. The team explored and developed this new 140,000 acre heavy oil play through both cold (CHOPS) and thermal production.
Andrew worked for Layne Christensen Company for 10 years, 6 years as Vice President of Layne Energy, where he was responsible for land acquisition, gas marketing, budgeting, reserves oversight and reporting. In his prior roles to Layne Energy, Andrew worked for several years in Layne Canada, responsible for company strategy, reporting, operations oversight and financial management. Andrew has been responsible for company strategy and oversight of multiple service companies and has held executive roles, both domestically and internationally, for service businesses and upstream companies.
